Account and Data Deletion Policy – fishofish.in

This policy is designed to comply with data privacy regulations (such as GDPR, CCPA) and the Google Play Console’s User Data policy.

Data Management Without Account Deletion

We believe in giving you granular control over your personal data. You can manage and delete specific data points without deleting your entire account at any time.

To edit/delete specific data (such as a saved shipping address or payment method token):

  1. Log into your account via the app.
  2. Navigate to the My Account section.
  3. Go to the [Addresses/Payment Methods/Profile] tab.
  4. Use the native ‘EDIT‘ button next to the information you wish to edit.

For other personal data requests:

If you have a request to delete data that is not manageable in the My Account section (e.g., historical communication data), please use the general contact method outlined below and specify the data you would like to be erased.

How to Request Account Deletion (The Process)

To permanently delete your user account and associated personal identifying information (PII) from [Your Store Name], please follow these steps:

  1. Compose an email to: [email protected]
  2. Use the Subject Line: Official Account Deletion Request – [Your Registered Email]
  3. Include the following required details in the email body:
    • Your full name (as registered).
    • The exact email address registered to the account.
    • A clear statement: “I formally request the permanent deletion of my fishofish.in account and associated PII.”
    • Your account details with us, can be accessed by login to our portal and reaching below links, https://www.fishofish.in/my-account/edit-account/ and https://www.fishofish.in/my-account/

Identity Verification and Processing Timeline

  • Verification: Upon receipt, we will use your provided details to verify you are the account owner. We may contact you for further confirmation if necessary.
  • Processing Time: Your request will be processed manually by our Data Compliance Team within 15 business days of successful verification.
  • Confirmation: You will receive a final confirmation email once the deletion and anonymization process is complete.

What Data is Permanently Deleted (The PII)

This data is removed from our live user database and will result in the loss of all account functionality:

  • User Identity: Your registered Name, Email Address, and Phone Number.
  • Account Access: Your Password and all login credentials.
  • Saved Data: Saved shipping addresses, billing profiles, wishlists, and user preferences.
  • Communication: Marketing preferences and non-transactional communication history.

What Data is Retained and Anonymized (The E-commerce Compliance)

As an e-commerce platform, we are legally required to maintain records of all commercial transactions. We do not delete these records; we permanently anonymize them.

  • Order Records: Transaction history, order details, and related invoice data are retained for a minimum of 3 years to comply with tax and financial auditing laws in Tamilnadu, India
  • Anonymization: All retained order data will be irreversibly de-identified (anonymized) by replacing your personal identifiers (name, email, unique user ID) with an internal, non-personal Anonymous Transaction ID. This retained data can no longer be linked back to you personally.
  • Compliance: Records related to payment disputes, chargebacks, and fraud investigations may be retained for longer periods as required by our payment processors and legal counsel.

Important: Loss of Service

Once your account is deleted:

  • You will lose access to your Order History and the ability to track past purchases.
  • Any saved loyalty points or unredeemed store credits associated with the account will be lost.
